Tackling poor musculoskeletal health

For many employees there has been a dramatic change in how they work over the past two years.

Many are now working between the office and their home or even on a mobile basis. At insight we’ve noticed a rapid increase in the number of referrals relating to back, neck and shoulder pain.

Many of the issues are related to problems such as working habits, lifestyle choices, poor posture or simply a lack of knowledge and are relatively easy to resolve with the correct advice and support. In order to help with this, we have expanded our service to include different types of assessment.

How can Insight help?

DSE (Display Screen Equipment)

Remote DSE assessments can be done by video call. But we also do site or home visits if the issues are slightly more complex.

If your employee has a muscular or skeletal issue which is more related to their work process

(such as in a factory) then a visit can be arranged to assess this process and provide a report which may help you in how to make reasonable adjustments.

Vehicle Ergonomic Assessments

Many more workers are now working from their company vehicles for extended periods. At times this can result in an increase in reported discomfort, especially in the case of back pain. A vehicle assessment will look at the compatibility of the vehicle and the employee and explore any adjustments and recommendations.

Management Referrals for Musculoskeletal (MSK) Concerns

Many of our customers already use us on a regular basis for a medical opinion and advice on how to manage MSK within the workplace. It would not be unusual for some of these issues to be complex. We already have a selection of doctors, nurses and qualified DSE assessors in the team.

Advice / Supply of Ergonomic equipment (chairs, keyboards, desks, etc.)

In addition to the above services, we can supply items such as office chairs, keyboards and desks. We liaise directly with manufacturers and stay up to date with industry developments to help keep you informed of the most up to date equipment.

If you have any questions or an issue that doesn’t quite fit into any of the above categories then don’t worry, you can contact us here, or call us on 01792 321010
